Who is responsible for keeping public footpaths open?

The Kent County Council (01622 641411) is resposible for public footpaths. Ask for the Public Rights of Way Officer. The have some parish maps showing the rights of way for sale at £2 each but they do not appear to have any for Shoreham or Crockenhill at Maidstone but they may have some at the West Malling Offices (01732 872 829)

Definitive maps are held by parish councils.

Footpath SR3A (from TQ496638 to TQ501635) is almost blocked with undergrowth.

The KCC Public Rights of Way Officer was inspecting it today and a gang will be sent to open it up sometime in September.
