Shoreham Parish Council's Parish Plan

Shoreham Parish Council have embarked on a Parish Plan. A Parish Plan is a government initiative to enable local people to define their needs and aspirations for the next 10 years.

At the Annual Assembly of the Shoreham Parish Council in May 2002 a group of people were appointed to start the processes. This group is called the Shoreham Parish Plan Group It will take around 18 months to complete.

The first stage will include finding out the issues that concern residents. You can register your concerns and aspirations for the future on the Parish Plan Groups website.

The next stage is to review all the issues, concerns and hopes for the future and send questionnaires to all residents to gauge the amount of support each issue has.

The questionnaire results will be analysed and a document produced which is an action plan for the future. This action plan will be sent to the Parish Council, District Council and County Council. If actions are required from the Police, or NHS, they too will receive a copy. This action plan can then be used by groups such as the Councils or Residents' Associations to lobby the government bodies and agencies to do things that the local people want.

Mike Peek and Phil Hobson will be representing Well Hill Residents on the Shoreham Parish Plan Group.
